Registered Nurse II - PRN (Observation Unit)

Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, a Level 3 Trauma Center in Houston, is seeking a Registered Nurse II to work in the Observation Unit on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This position is part of Harris Health, the public healthcare safety-net provider serving Harris County, Texas. You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced acute care setting, managing patients with common clinical problems while working independently and safely within your scope of practice.

Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital is a Level 3 Trauma Center and part of Harris Health's network of acute care facilities, clinics, and specialty locations. The Observation Unit serves patients requiring short-term monitoring and assessment.

Position Details

• Position Type: Part-time, PRN (as-needed)
• Schedule: Weekends, holidays, flexible scheduling, and on-call availability required
• Pay: $41.82 - $52.55 per hour
• Location: Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, Houston, TX 77026

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited school
• One year of full-time RN experience or completion of a Graduate Nurse (GN) Program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program
• Other unit-specific certifications as required
