AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU at our Sebring, Florida location. This full-time day shift position offers the opportunity to provide critical care to patients in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment.
Clinical Setting
This role is based in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU), where you will care for critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses
- Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care
- Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols
- Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support CPR certification
- Skills required to work in critical care area as defined by unit
- Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer skills with ability to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Mental and emotional stability, demonstrating a courteous and calm approach to all contacts with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members
- Mature judgment and ability to handle confidential information
- Personal qualities including kindness, compassion, understanding, integrity, respect, sense of humor, discretion, and confidentiality
- Ability to work as a team player within a unit
- Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
- Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Ability to provide leadership, direction, and solve complex problems
- Accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills, multi-tasking, and professional bedside manner
- Knowledge in assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance
- EKG knowledge based on patient population
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record
- Previous EKG Interpretation Class
- EPIC experience

Compensation and Bonuses
- Pay range: $31.53 - $50.40 per hour
- Up to $15,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates
- Up to $15,000 relocation bonus for eligible candidates
