The Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to patients and families on the Surgical Acute Care unit (6E) at Medical University Hospital Authority. Working under general supervision, you will assist at the advanced beginner level, utilizing nursing process principles and practices while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to achieve desired patient outcomes.
Clinical Setting
You will work on a surgical acute care unit providing direct patient care in a hospital setting.
Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- 3 twelve-hour shifts
- Shifts vary based on departmental needs
- Rotating shifts required
- Overtime as required
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license from the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
Education
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred
- If hired with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing on or after July 1, 2013, you are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of hire or reclassification date
