Stillwater Medical is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Hospital Float Pool. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive patient care across multiple nursing units throughout the hospital, working as a resource nurse to support planned staffing needs and unplanned absences. You will apply the full nursing process—assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation—while collaborating effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.

Schedule

  • Part-time nights: 18:30 to 7:00
  • 24 hours per week (2 shifts)
  • Every other weekend and holidays on rotation

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process across various hospital units as assigned
  • Assess, plan, and implement nursing interventions for patients in assigned care areas
  • Interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Maintain professional nursing standards for the age groups served
  • Successfully complete care competencies for all patient care areas where assignments are likely to occur
  • Work flexibly across different units as assigned by the house supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Active Oklahoma RN license
  • Current CPR card or completion within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Flexibility and willingness to work various units as assigned
  • Two years of medical-surgical clinical experience
  • Associate degree in nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • One year of critical care experience
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of employment
  • PALS certification

Physical Requirements

  • Strength and stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and managing stressful situations
  • Adequate vision (correctable with glasses) to read and write
  • Ability to hear (correctable with hearing devices) and converse in person and over the phone
  • Ability to see, hear, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer patient care
  • Ability to frequently lift at least 60 pounds, reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel
  • Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks such as inserting catheters, starting IVs, administering medications, and handling instruments
