Registered Nurse Gi Lab

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have experience providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing GI procedures, including pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-anesthesia recovery care. You will work in a fast-paced procedural environment and must be proficient in Epic EMR with strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.

Clinical Setting

This position is based in Glendale, CA and involves working in a GI Lab where you will care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, and other GI interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care throughout all phases of GI procedures
• Perform patient assessments and document findings accurately in Epic EMR
• Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures
• Monitor patients during procedures, administering medications as ordered and observing for adverse reactions
• Provide post-procedure recovery care, patient education, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic while adhering to facility policies and regulatory standards
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in patient condition
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of endoscopy equipment while following infection prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent GI Lab or Endoscopy nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Experience using Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification
• Strong IV skills
• Moderate sedation experience

Schedule

• Full-time, day shift (unless otherwise specified)
• 13-week travel assignment
