This is a full-time float pool position for a Registered Nurse working nights (7 PM - 7 AM) across multiple perinatal and pediatric units. You will provide routine and complex nursing care to patients in the Nursery, Mother Baby Unit, Postpartum, NICU, PICU, or Acute Pediatric settings, with flexibility to be assigned to more than one unit based on clinical needs.
Clinical Setting
You will work in a dynamic float pool environment supporting multiple specialized units within perinatal and pediatric services. Your assignment may vary based on patient census and departmental staffing needs, requiring you to maintain competency across different patient populations and clinical settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care in accordance with individualized patient treatment plans
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments addressing physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs
- Develop, implement, and modify plans of care using evidence-based practice
- Administer medications and treatments; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education
- Anticipate and plan for admission, discharge, and transfer needs to facilitate patient flow
- Maintain and properly use equipment and supplies with good stewardship
- Participate in quality improvement activities and nursing research
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
- Demonstrate flexibility in assignment availability on a regular basis
- Proactively communicate findings to appropriate healthcare team members
- Perform timely reassessment and documentation of patient progress
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of employment or compact license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a perinatal services setting (Nursery, Mother Baby Unit, Postpartum, or NICU)
- BLS certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Current STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification from one of the following: Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor
- PALS certification if assigned to a pediatric department
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Night shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

Licenses and Certifications
