Registered Nurse, First Assist - Perioperative Services

Straub Benioff Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse, First Assist for its Perioperative Services department. In this role, you will provide direct patient care to surgical patients with primary emphasis on the intra-operative period and responsibility for preoperative assessment. You will work as part of a dedicated nursing team to ensure a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and their families throughout the surgical experience.

Clinical Setting

Straub Benioff Medical Center is a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu with a network of neighborhood clinics and visiting specialist program serving the state of Hawaii. The Perioperative Services department provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, spanning ward admission, anesthesia, surgery, and recovery. The hospital includes the Pacific Region's only multidisciplinary burn treatment center and offers services across more than 32 medical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and necessary patient care to surgical patients
• Focus on intra-operative care with responsibility for preoperative assessment
• Identify patients' individual needs and develop patient care plans
• Implement nursing care plans and coordinate nursing services
• Support patient health restoration before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Work collaboratively within the perioperative nursing team

Required Qualifications

• Current Hawaii Registered Nurse License
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card
• Three years of recent acute care scrub and circulating Registered Nurse experience in the Operating Room or related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse First Assist certification

Schedule

• Rotating 12-hour shifts
• Per Diem employment type
• FTE: 0.475

Compensation

• Pay range: $70.89 - $73.89 per hour
• Rate of pay determined by knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience, training, and internal peer equity
