Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a Registered Nurse Fellow to join the Women's Medicine Unit, a setting recognized for high-quality women's health services and excellence in gynecologic surgery. This is a full-time position offering comprehensive training and mentorship for nurses transitioning into or advancing within women's health nursing.

Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments to collect basic data and identify patient care needs using assessment data and patient preferences
- Follow written plans of care, standards, and practice guidelines under the supervision of an experienced RN
- Organize, prioritize, and deliver patient care to assigned patients using Inova's Nursing Professional Practice Model and Care Delivery Model
- Monitor patients' progress toward expected outcomes and adjust plans of care accordingly
- Provide compassionate, empathetic hands-on care while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
- State rationale for clinical decisions based on educational knowledge, principles, and evidence-based practices
- Work efficiently within the healthcare team to achieve maximum productivity and identified outcomes
- Accurately document all patient care activities according to documentation standards
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as an active member of the healthcare team
- Successfully integrate novice nursing abilities with new knowledge and transfer skills into safe, high-quality patient care delivery
- Identify and seek out members of the healthcare team as resources to increase practice and knowledge
- Demonstrate openness to feedback, mentoring, and suggestions from colleagues
- Attend and participate in all assigned learning sessions for successful completion of the RN Fellowship
- Complete all assignments including classroom work, computer-based learning modules, laboratory simulations, and assigned readings on time
- Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, verbalize reasoning, and demonstrate use of equipment and supplies involved in providing safe, high-quality, and effective patient care
- May serve as a preceptor following appropriate orientation and competency completion
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- One year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care unit, OR one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting, OR completion of a critical care fellowship
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing. If you hold an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN), you must complete a BSN within 5 years of the start date
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse, OR an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
