NYU Langone Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Endoscopy department. This role requires GI/Endoscopy experience and offers the opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in a leading academic medical center consistently ranked among the nation's top healthcare systems.

In this position, you will carry out patient care responsibilities with emphasis on the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will provide competent, safe, and compassionate care based on NYU Langone Health Patient Care and Nursing Standards, working as a member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive patient-centered plans of care.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, assess, and document patient healthcare data
  • Involve patient, family, and interdisciplinary team in identifying realistic and measurable plans of care and outcomes
  • Prioritize care based on collected data and implement interventions in a safe, timely, and appropriate manner
  • Document assessments, reassessments, and interventions per hospital standards
  • Educate patients and families regarding health status and established plans of care
  • Determine learning needs and implement educational plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Evaluate patient progress toward expected outcomes and recognize changes in patient condition
  • Demonstrate understanding of organizational quality and safety performance improvement plans and nurse-sensitive quality indicators
  • Consider the needs and behaviors of specific patient age groups and cultural groups in all patient care activities
  • Contribute to unit throughput efficiencies and metrics
  • Comply with unit-based and organizational professional standards, New York State Nurse Practice Act, and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Exhibit appropriate judgment in delegated activities and differentiate between activities within professional nursing scope and those delegable to ancillary staff
  • Serve as a support and resource for nursing staff and students
  • Engage in self-assessment and peer review to promote professional development
  • Adhere to patient care and nursing standards using clinical practice guidelines
  • Attend unit practice councils and utilize the structure to critically appraise and influence practice
  • Comply with annual education and mandatory regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills
  • GI/Endoscopy experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership in pertinent professional organizations

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $132,017.38 to $156,767.38 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
