This is a contract position for a Registered Nurse in a fast-paced emergency room setting. You will provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients, working the night shift in a high-volume ER environment. This is a 13-week contract role with an immediate start date, based in All Cit, NM.
Clinical Setting
You will work in a busy emergency department, managing high patient throughput while maintaining quality care standards. The role requires adaptability and the ability to handle rapid patient flow in a dynamic clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in a fast-paced ER
- Assess patient conditions, triage, and initiate appropriate treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and support staff to streamline patient throughput
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and quality standards with measurable outcomes
- Monitor vital signs, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team
- Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions per protocols
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EHR system
- Participate in performance metrics and contribute to pipeline-based planning for patient care capacity
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce wait times and improve outcomes
- Demonstrate adaptability by handling high-volume demand while maintaining quality care
- Engage in ongoing professional development to advance clinical competencies and certifications
- Mentor and educate junior staff and new hires to support development goals
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- Active BLS/CPR certification and AED readiness for emergency care
- Minimum 2 years ER/acute care nursing experience
- Proficiency in triage, rapid assessment, and protocol-driven treatment
- Demonstrated ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced ER with high throughput
- Strong EHR documentation skills and accurate charting in real time
- Ability to monitor, interpret vitals, and escalate changes promptly
- Familiarity with infection control, safety standards, and quality metrics
- Team collaboration skills and ability to mentor junior staff and new hires
- Performance-driven mindset with ability to work toward pipeline-based capacity planning
Preferred Qualifications
- ER or ACLS certification
