Registered Nurse, Emergency Department, PRN Mids - VWCH

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This position offers 12-hour shifts scheduled between 1:00 PM and 1:00 AM, with a minimum of 4 shifts required per 6-week scheduling period. You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting, applying the nursing process to plan and implement care for patients across the continuum.

Clinical Setting

You will work within Vanderbilt Health's Emergency Services department, part of the region's largest comprehensive academic health system with eight hospitals and over 180 clinics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum
• Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis
• Continually utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes
• Employ strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment
• Provide patient and family education
• Effectively communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team
• Participate in continuum of care planning

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Graduate of an approved nursing program
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing work experience

Schedule

• PRN 12-hour shifts
• 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM
• Minimum 4 shifts per 6-week scheduling period
