Registered Nurse | Emergency Department

Join the Emergency Department team at CentraCare – Monticello as a Registered Nurse providing acute care to patients and families in a Level IV Emergency Department setting. You will utilize advanced assessment and physical examination skills to deliver high-quality patient care services, plan and direct total nursing care, and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Clinical Setting

CentraCare – Monticello is a 25-bed critical access hospital with a Level IV Emergency Department, ambulance service, and extensive outpatient services including heart care, surgical services, sleep center, diabetes and nutrition education, integrated behavioral health, vascular care, and wound care. The facility also includes a birthing center, medical/surgical unit, pediatrics, ICU, and a 10-bed geriatric behavioral health unit, with full imaging, laboratory services, and respiratory therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an acute emergency setting
• Perform advanced assessment and physical examination
• Plan, direct, and evaluate total nursing care for assigned patients
• Relate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers for continuity of care
• Maintain quality relationships with other departments and nursing units
• Participate in education, maintenance of records, and upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills
• Demonstrate working knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Provide care to patients of all ages, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, with understanding of growth and development processes

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Minnesota
• Basic Life Support (BLS) current certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) current certification or within 1 year of hire
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, the public, and other providers
• Knowledge of growth and development, including cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturation processes
• Understanding of treatment needs for patients of all ages in relation to growth and development

Preferred Qualifications

• Critical Advanced Life Support current certification or within 1 year of hire

Schedule

• Part-time position: 48 hours every two weeks
• Variable 12-hour shifts during the week: 7pm-7:30am and 7am-7:30pm
• Every 3rd weekend 7pm-7:30am shift
• Rotating holidays

Compensation

• Pay based on education and experience:
• Associate's degree in nursing: starting at $41.32 per hour
• Bachelor's degree in nursing: starting at $42.56 per hour
• Master's degree in nursing: starting at $43.84 per hour
• Pay range: $41.32 - $68.11 per hour
• $3,500 hiring bonus for eligible candidates

Hiring Bonus Eligibility
