Registered Nurse Emergency Coordinator

Las Palmas Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse Emergency Coordinator to serve as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) in our emergency department. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the unit during your designated shift. You will work collaboratively with the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serve as a resource person for staff, and support the organization's commitment to exceptional patient outcomes and clinical excellence.

Las Palmas Medical Center is a 300+ bed full-service hospital in El Paso featuring the region's only kidney transplant center. Our emergency department includes a Level III trauma center and serves a diverse patient population including pediatric and adult patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care
• Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service
• Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary
• Support facility efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives
• Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff
• Recommend and implement courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization
• Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines
• Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• One year of nursing experience
• Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification, to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse (ATCN) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification, to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
