REGISTERED NURSE- CVOR RN

This is a 13-week travel contract position for a Registered Nurse in Cardiovascular Surgery (CVOR) at a facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. You will work day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, providing direct patient care in the operating room and cardiovascular surgical setting. This role requires circulating in the OR and is willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct quality, compassionate care while maintaining standards of professional nursing practice
• Create positive therapeutic relationships with patients and families
• Provide leadership to team members by articulating and delegating expected standards of care
• Supervise and encourage LPNs, PCAs, PCAs/US, US, Ortho Techs, and other non-licensed staff
• Support team member contributions
• Circulate in the operating room

Schedule

• 40 hours per week across 5 eight-hour shifts
• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays as required
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing
• Registered Nurse license for the State of Alabama or Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• NURSYS registration
• AHA BLS certification or Red Cross equivalent
• AHA ACLS certification or Red Cross equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiovascular surgery nursing
• 2 years total nursing experience (or 18 months with 1 year recent specialty experience)
