Registered Nurse-Critical Care Float Part-Time Nights

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for Critical Care Float Part-Time Nights. This position provides nursing care to acutely ill patients in critical care settings across the Northwestern Medicine system. As a critical care float nurse, you will work nights on a part-time basis, rotating among critical care units to provide continuity of care and clinical expertise where needed most.

You will practice nursing according to the nursing process—assessing patients, planning individualized care, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes. You will maintain ANA standards of professional nursing practice while effectively collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress toward patient outcomes
• Demonstrate hourly rounding behaviors consistently
• Direct care and determine appropriate utilization of assistive personnel involved in direct patient care
• Serve as a critical response RN, including participation on rapid response teams, code blue teams, RN/telemetry consults, and patient visitations
• Create documented care plans focused on outcomes and decisions related to care delivery, including communication with patients, families, and other healthcare team members

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
• CPR – Basic Life Support certification
• CPR – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Telemetry skills with ability to pass a basic EKG test within one month of hire
