Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for Critical Care Float on a part-time days schedule. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to acutely ill patients across critical care units, applying the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. You will work as a float nurse, rotating among critical care areas to meet patient care needs while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.
Clinical Setting
You will work in critical care environments, providing care to acutely ill patients and collaborating with interdisciplinary health care teams.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze patient data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress toward patient outcomes
- Demonstrate hourly rounding behaviors consistently
- Direct care and determine appropriate utilization of assistants involved in direct patient care
- Serve as a critical response RN, including participation on rapid response teams, code blue teams, RN/telemetry consults, and patient visitations
- Create documented plans focused on outcomes and care delivery decisions, with documented communications with patients, families, and other care team members
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
- CPR – Basic Life Support certification
- CPR – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Telemetry skills with ability to pass a basic EKG test within one month of hire
