Registered Nurse-Critical Care Float Full-Time Days

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse-Critical Care Float for full-time day shifts. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to acutely ill patients across critical care units, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. You will work as a float nurse, rotating among critical care areas to meet patient care needs.

Clinical Setting

You will work in critical care environments, providing care to acutely ill patients. As a critical care float RN, you will rotate among various critical care units within Northwestern Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress toward patient outcomes
• Demonstrate the eight key behaviors of hourly rounding consistently
• Direct care and determine appropriate utilization of assistants involved in providing direct patient care
• Perform as a critical response RN, including participation on rapid response teams, code blue teams, RN/telemetry consults, and patient visitations
• Create documented plans focused on outcomes and decisions related to care and service delivery, including communications with patients, families, and other healthcare team members
• Maintain ANA standards of professional nursing practice and effectively interact with patients, significant others, and other health team members

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
• CPR - Basic Life Support certification
• CPR - Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Telemetry skills with ability to pass a basic EKG test within one month of hire
