Registered Nurse, Clinic - Dept of Orthopedics - FT 1.0 (80 hrs biweekly) (70592)

Memorial Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Orthopedics Clinic. In this full-time position, you will provide professional nursing care to patients in a clinic office setting, working within a continuous quality improvement environment while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and clinical excellence.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an orthopedics clinic office environment, supporting the clinical provider and patient population with direct nursing care and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Implement nursing plans of care, nursing interventions, and procedures according to clinic policies and procedures
• Provide and record sample medications to patients under provider direction, demonstrating knowledge of commonly prescribed medications including administration technique, action, dosage, and side effects
• Assess patients and identify patient care problems, communicating findings to the provider
• Document patient intake including vital statistics, verification of allergies, past medical history, updated medication list, and review of systems
• Perform assigned nursing procedures and treatments as ordered and within scope of practice with appropriate, timely documentation
• Assist with patient education as needed under provider direction
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of all nursing care by authenticating entries in medical records
• Maintain office records and logs as directed by supervisor
• Submit prescriptions under provider direction and ensure all prescriptions called, written, or sent electronically to the pharmacy are documented in the patient medical record at the time of execution
• Collect specimens in accordance with hospital policy and appropriately complete required forms
• Maintain compliance with RQI requirements
• Assume additional duties and responsibilities as necessary

Required Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio and/or West Virginia (based on clinic location)
• Minimum of one year of clinic or hospital-based experience as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
• BLS certification
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical setting with relevant knowledge and skills
• Knowledge of documenting and maintaining electronic health records

Schedule

• Full-time position: 80 hours biweekly
