As a Charge Nurse on the Medical/Surgical Unit at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, you will coordinate nursing care for patients to ensure the provision of quality care and maintain standards for professional nursing practice. This is a full-time night shift position (19:00 - 07:30) serving primarily adult and geriatric patients, with occasional pediatric admissions.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate nursing care for patients on the unit
- Assess adult and senior patients for appropriate behavior, motor skills, and psychological norms
- Provide standard patient care and treatment to adult and senior patients on a medical-surgical unit
- Recognize signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect
- Identify and address safety issues, both environmental and medical
- Assess and care for pediatric patients when admitted, including age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological/psychological developmental norms
- Ensure appropriate safety, treatment, medication, and immunization concerns for all age groups
- Demonstrate competency in the use of equipment and monitoring devices utilized on the Medical/Surgical Unit
Required Qualifications
- Diploma, associate degree, or BSN from an accredited school of nursing
- Current BLS certification
- Current NIHSS/Stroke Scale certification
- Basic Dysrhythmia Recognition Training or equivalent
- Organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, including conflict resolution
- Basic computer skills
- Well-rounded knowledge of nursing care
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of prior experience in an acute care setting
Schedule and Compensation
- Full-time, night shift: 19:00 - 07:30
- Pay range: $55 - $62 per hour (based on qualifications including experience, education, certifications, and licensure)
