Registered Nurse – CCU (36 Hours, 7a-7p)

Join Boston Medical Center's Critical Care Unit as a Registered Nurse delivering specialized care to patients with severe medical conditions. You will work collaboratively with intensivists, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, and clinical pharmacists to stabilize and support patients with life-threatening illnesses using a patient-centered care model.

Clinical Setting

The Critical Care Unit at Boston Medical Center - South is a specialized unit dedicated to serving patients with severe medical conditions. The multidisciplinary team is committed to providing patient-centered care, involving families in the decision-making process, and continuously improving quality and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with various healthcare team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to interprofessional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data and information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shifts
• Every other weekend rotation

Required Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required
• Active Massachusetts RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior critical care experience
• Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCAR) or Trauma Nurse Counselor Certification (TNCC)
