Registered Nurse Casual - 7W Neurology

Join the Neurology unit at McLaren as a Registered Nurse on a casual, per diem basis. This position offers flexible scheduling with variable daily work times, allowing you to work as needed to support patient care delivery on the 7W Neurology unit.

You will be responsible for delivering nursing care within the unit's scope of practice, following hospital policies, procedures, nursing process guidelines, and established standards of care and practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess each assigned patient, document their status, and evaluate their response to the plan of care
• Take appropriate corrective action based on patient assessment and response
• Plan and implement the patient's plan of care using established standards of care
• Provide patient teaching using the plan of care and standard of care guidelines
• Oversee ancillary personnel for technical tasks

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider
• Experience in a specialty area will be considered; experience specific to the neurology unit may be required to maintain overall competency level as required by regulatory agency

Additional Certification Requirements

• ACLS required within six months of hire for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit, Step-Down, and Telemetry Floats
• NRP required for RNs in Labor and Delivery
• PALS required for RNs in Pediatrics
• PALS and TNCC required within one year for the Emergency Department

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of professional nursing experience
• ACLS certification in other units
