The opportunity

Job Description

AdventHealth is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Operating Room in Littleton, Colorado. This position offers day shift hours with operating room shift differentials and includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus.

You will provide comprehensive patient care in a surgical setting, working with patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. Your role will focus on perioperative nursing, patient safety, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient conditions and needs through comprehensive evaluations to develop individualized care plans
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring comprehensive and continuous care
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to prescribed protocols
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress continuously, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Document patient care activities meticulously to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote understanding and compliance
  • Advocate for patient safety by identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care
  • Maintain sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions such as IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections
  • Provide emotional and physical support to patients and their families during recovery
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing
  • One or more years of surgery experience
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support CPR certification (BLS)
  • Proficiency in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion and respect to patients and families undergoing stressful procedures and treatments
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated, taking direction from physicians and management
  • Safe knowledge of equipment, procedures, supplies, computers, IV pumps, NOVA Glucose monitor, I-STAT, and immediate use sterilization policy and procedures

Schedule and Compensation

  • Full-time position
  • Day shift
  • Pay range: $35.39 to $65.82 per hour
  • $15,000 sign-on bonus
  • Eligible for operating room shift differentials
