REGISTERED NURSE B

The Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities & Hospitals seeks a Registered Nurse B to provide professional nursing care in an inpatient or community service facility. You will develop and deliver direct nursing care by assessing patient and client needs, planning and implementing care, and evaluating outcomes. This role carries responsibility and accountability for patient care and other licensed personnel during shifts when hospital administration and ancillary management are not immediately available for problem resolution and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care within inpatient or community service facilities
• Participate in intake processes including patient/client interviews, assessments, nursing diagnosis formulation, and goal setting
• Apply the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Supervise, monitor, and evaluate activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, graduate nurses, student nurses, attendants, mental health workers, and auxiliary ward personnel
• Interpret nursing and healthcare needs to interdisciplinary team members
• Provide medical and nursing therapies, health care instructions, and counseling to clients and families
• Document interactions with clients according to agency policy
• Communicate health, medical, and nursing information to interdisciplinary team members
• Provide ongoing instructions to patients/clients and staff
• Monitor health status of patients/clients
• Act as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Active Rhode Island RN license
• Thorough knowledge of current and approved nursing practices and methods
• Commitment to maintain competency through regular participation in continuing nursing education programs, workshops, seminars, and conferences
• Physical qualification to perform assigned duties as evidenced by a physician's certificate at time of appointment

Schedule

• Third shift: 11:15 PM to 7:15 AM
• 40 hours per week, standard schedule
• Unit and days off to be determined

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $80,342.00 - $140,143.00
• Pay Grade: C00921 A
