The Assistant Nurse Manager is a registered nurse responsible for clinical care and leadership of a designated patient care service area. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating processes, technology, personnel, and facility needs to achieve safe patient outcomes in a patient-centered environment. The Assistant Nurse Manager assumes the role of Nurse Manager during her absence and assists in providing leadership and supervision to nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Implement patient care activities in conjunction with the Nurse Manager and healthcare team members
- Evaluate quality and effectiveness of nursing care administered to patients and make recommendations for improvement to the Nurse Manager
- Monitor selection and use of unit supplies, technology, and equipment
- Ensure all unit staff are informed of medical center developments and participate in patient care area planning and problem solving
- Conduct and facilitate leadership and care team meetings, demonstrating ability to achieve meeting outcomes and maintaining records of minutes
- Coordinate ER referrals
- Record, report, and interpret client responses and collaborate with appropriate members of the health team in the Family Practice setting
- Read and implement current nursing policies and standards written in nursing literature
- Participate in department performance improvement activities
- Assume responsibilities in the absence of the Nurse Manager, including hiring, termination, and evaluation of employees
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical setting
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Licensed Registered Nurse in New York State
- Current BCLS certification
- Current Infection Control certification
- Current Child Abuse Certificate

- Experience in ambulatory care setting
- Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency
Compensation
- $102,500.00 - $107,500.00
