Registered Nurse - Arkadelphia

Pediatrics Plus, a specialized pediatric healthcare provider, is seeking a Registered Nurse to oversee the medical aspect and needs of the Developmental Preschool program at our Arkadelphia location. You will provide nursing services to children from birth to age 18 in a state-of-the-art facility committed to evidence-based therapy, education, and diagnostic services.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a pediatric developmental preschool environment, serving children with various developmental conditions and their families. The role requires collaboration with the Senior Director, regional leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all aspects of health and safety at the site level
• Complete initial and annual training on health and safety issues for enrolled children
• Provide daily nursing services as prescribed by licensed physicians
• Be available for all health-related needs including sicknesses, accidents, and incidents
• Perform nursing assessments as indicated on EIDT children
• Maintain documentation of current immunization records and waiver forms for each child
• Request medical records from doctors and facilities as needed
• Ensure accurate and timely billing for nursing services
• Maintain preschool-specific medical supplies
• Provide health-related guidance to parents and involve Senior Director with concerns that cannot be immediately resolved
• Attend multidisciplinary conferences and administrative meetings as requested
• Provide input into center policies and procedures
• Assist with new hire orientation related to health and safety
• Provide relevant health and safety training to staff as needed
• Monitor for potential abuse or neglect situations and follow required DHS reporting guidelines
• Conduct reviews to ensure health-related Arkansas Childcare Licensing and EIDT requirements are being followed
• Assist with referrals for additional health-related services and specialties

Required Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted registered nursing license as approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing
• Knowledge of basic nursing services including tube feeds, catheterizations, diabetic management, and seizure management
• Knowledge of common pediatric developmental conditions and pediatric emergency management
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people
• Ability to work with children birth to age 18 and families who are at risk
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic computer skills including keyboarding, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and policies
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or employees
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to dress appropriately and comply with company dress code policies
• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

While performing the duties of this job, you will frequently communicate information and ideas through sight and hearing. You will regularly move including walking, running, jumping, and sitting. You will regularly use hands and fingers to handle, lift, reach, and feel. You will frequently stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
