Registered Nurse

This position offers the opportunity to practice comprehensive nursing care across multiple clinical departments. As a Registered Nurse, you will apply specialized knowledge in psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences to deliver evidence-based patient care. You will collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide physical and psychological support to patients, families, and friends while supervising assigned team members and students.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient assessments and formulate individualized plans of care
• Oversee implementation of care plans and evaluate and adjust them using critical thinking skills
• Perform nursing acts authorized by the board and consistent with American Nursing Association Standards of Practice
• Provide health teaching and counseling using Teach Back methodology to confirm patient comprehension
• Administer medications, intravenous therapy, and treatments as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
• Supervise, delegate, and follow through with other personnel on nursing care activities
• Mentor and precept students and orient new staff as assigned
• Report pertinent information up the chain of command to the Clinical Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, or House Nurse Coordinator
• Participate on various teams, committees, and performance improvement initiatives
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, coworkers, and yourself
• Participate in discharge planning and transition of care, identifying patient needs
• Serve as a patient advocate and escalate patient-related concerns in a timely manner
• Document pertinent findings in the medical record promptly
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and function as an active team member
• Assume responsibility for your own professional development
• Utilize effective communication skills and active listening with a compassionate and empathetic attitude
• Practice Hands Off communication using SBAR methodology and perform bedside shift reporting using SBAR unless otherwise directed
• Function as a positive influence and role model while adhering to professional code of conduct
• Respect the dignity and confidentiality of all patient-related matters
• Perform other job duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing
• Active Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
• De-Escalation Training within 6 months of hire
• Mastery of problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Mastery of collaboration and teamwork
• Mastery of growth mindset skills including agility and developing yourself and others
• Mastery of execution and delivery skills including planning, delivering, and supporting
• Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
• Ability to function in a clinical setting with diverse cultural dynamics of clinical staff and patients
• Mastery knowledge of phases of care transitions and available resources for patients
• Mastery of digital literacy skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Up to 1 year of nursing experience
