Registered Nurse - Ambulatory OB

This is a clinical nursing position in the Ambulatory Business Unit within the Obstetrics and Maternal Medicine Department. You will work in an ambulatory OB setting, providing safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered nursing services to obstetric patients across the continuum of care.

You will participate in a comprehensive one-year nurse orientation program designed to develop the clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional judgment required for independent ambulatory nursing practice. During your first year, you must successfully complete an approved Ambulatory Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) and all required orientation competencies. You will work under the guidance and supervision of the OBGYN Nursing Director and an assigned preceptor during this orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care
• Perform established nursing procedures
• Support the care of patients with complex clinical needs under appropriate supervision
• Contribute to care coordination and patient education
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Work collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Contribute to a positive patient experience

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical RN experience in L&D or OB
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multitask
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
