Mercyhealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Allergy Clinic. In this role, you will provide direct patient care in a specialty clinic setting, administering medications and treatments, performing patient assessments, and developing individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans based on physician orders and clinic policy
- Provide patient and family education at an appropriate level of understanding, utilizing available resources
- Document care according to standards of care
- Participate in performance improvement activities and shared governance initiatives
- Utilize clinical expertise to support other units and departments in coordinating the patient's longitudinal plan of care
- Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience concerns, escalating appropriately through the chain of command
- Participate in peer review and professional nursing continuum processes
- Engage in continuous learning and support evidence-based practice guideline development
- Act to resolve system breakdowns and engage others in providing solutions
- Positively influence the professional and organizational environment
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required upon hire
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- 10 hours of continued education as required for Illinois licensure
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Additional Certifications
- Other certifications may be required per department guidelines, which may include ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRP
- Color blind test may be required per department guidelines
