Registered Nurse Allergy Clinic

Mercyhealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Allergy Clinic. In this role, you will provide direct patient care in a specialty clinic setting, administering medications and treatments, performing patient assessments, and developing individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans based on physician orders and clinic policy
• Provide patient and family education at an appropriate level of understanding, utilizing available resources
• Document care according to standards of care
• Participate in performance improvement activities and shared governance initiatives
• Utilize clinical expertise to support other units and departments in coordinating the patient's longitudinal plan of care
• Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience concerns, escalating appropriately through the chain of command
• Participate in peer review and professional nursing continuum processes
• Engage in continuous learning and support evidence-based practice guideline development
• Act to resolve system breakdowns and engage others in providing solutions
• Positively influence the professional and organizational environment

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required upon hire
• Active RN license in the state of practice
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
• 10 hours of continued education as required for Illinois licensure

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Additional Certifications

• Other certifications may be required per department guidelines, which may include ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRP
• Color blind test may be required per department guidelines
