The opportunity

Job Description

Elara Caring is seeking a Registered Nurse Administrator to lead home health operations from our Tinley Park office. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day branch operations, manage clinical and administrative outcomes, supervise staffing, ensure regulatory compliance, and direct strategic initiatives for a home health agency serving over 60,000 patients daily.

Clinical Setting

This is an administrative leadership position in home health care. You will work from our Tinley Park office and manage branch operations within your provider number, overseeing patient care programs delivered in patients' homes.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and direct day-to-day operations and maintain liaison with governing body, ownership, or personnel
  • Oversee implementation and oversight of all patient care programs and achievement of clinical and administrative outcomes
  • Oversee financial performance of assigned branches, implement effective budgeting and accounting systems that promote patient health and safety
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels at branch locations to meet patient needs
  • Ensure compliance with current Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement regulations and changes; identify and report potential payment or coverage problems
  • Supervise and coordinate utilization review activities
  • Participate in strategic development of key accounts, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly review meetings as needed
  • Ensure accuracy of all public information, materials, and activities
  • Maintain availability by phone as directed by company policy or regulatory requirement
  • Participate in on-call rotations as scheduled
  • Identify need for changes in programs and services; develop proposals for consideration by Area Vice President or other supervisors
  • Investigate complaints and problems, ensure problem resolution and correction of deficiencies, and report results to Area Vice President
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, timely, and adheres to Medicare guidelines
  • Assure compliance with state licensure, Medicare certification, and applicable oversight agency requirements through policy and procedure development, staff education, and ongoing monitoring
  • Oversee development and implementation of plans of correction in conjunction with state, federal, internal, or other auditing or regulatory bodies
  • Assure all QAPI recommendations are followed in branch locations for improvement of patient care or operational needs
  • Direct all aspects of operations and care delivery in accordance with mission and values, legal and regulatory requirements, payer and accreditation standards, customer expectations, and agency policy
  • Approve and submit time and attendance files to payroll for processing, including final review of inputs and corresponding rates
  • Implement the organization's strategic and growth-related plans
  • Conduct staff performance appraisals accurately and in accordance with company policy
  • Develop emergency preparedness plans appropriate to assigned branch locations
  • Maintain patient and staff privacy and confidentiality pursuant to HIPAA Privacy Final Rule
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Current state RN license as required by state or federal guidance
  • Licensed physician, registered nurse, or undergraduate degree holder
  • Three or more years of healthcare experience
  • One or more year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or related healthcare program
  • Demonstrates familiarity and understanding of national standards of care, state licensure, and federal conditions of participation
  • Ability to travel to offices within region on a regular and frequent basis
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Auto insurance in accordance with state laws

Illinois-Specific Requirements

Administrators in Illinois must have:

  • Experience in health service administration
  • One year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or related health provider program
  • One of the following: Registered professional nurse license, undergraduate degree, or Qualified Public Health Administrator credential as contained in §600.300 of the Certified Local Health Department Code

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Homecare Homebase software
  • Experience completing OASIS documentation

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary: $120,000 to $140,000 annually, based on education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
