This part-time position offers the opportunity to provide acute trauma and medical-surgical nursing care in a fast-paced clinical environment. As a Registered Nurse, you will practice independently while demonstrating awareness of all relevant clinical aspects, providing both routine and complex patient care with the ability to focus on long-range goals and plans. You will continue developing your ability to manage contingencies and make appropriate assignments and delegations to other care providers.
Responsibilities
- Practice nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with your level of practice
- Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
- Assess patient learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and resources
- Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in state of employment or compact
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
- One year of experience in acute trauma or medical-surgical nursing specialty
