Registered Nurse - 5West MedSurg Overflow - PRN Tier Plan

This is a PRN (as-needed) position for a Registered Nurse on the 5West Medical-Surgical Overflow unit. You will provide routine and complex nursing care to assigned patients, working independently while demonstrating awareness of all relevant clinical aspects. The role offers a flexible tier-based compensation structure that allows you to choose your commitment level and corresponding pay rate.

Compensation and Schedule

This position operates on a tier plan with flexible scheduling options:

• Tier 1: Base rate determined by experience, 3 shifts in a 6-week schedule
• Tier 2: $40/hour for 6 shifts in a 6-week schedule
• Tier 3: $45/hour for 12 shifts in a 6-week schedule
• Tier 4: $50/hour for 18 shifts in a 6-week schedule

Shift differentials apply for nights and weekends. Shifts are 12 hours in length.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with your level of practice
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide education; identify issues and resources
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of employment or compact license
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
• One year of experience in medical-surgical nursing or related specialty
