Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute is seeking three Registered Nurses 3 to provide advanced nursing care in a mental health and substance abuse services setting. This is an on-site, full-time position located in Nashville, Tennessee.
As a Registered Nurse 3, you will work under general supervision and be responsible for advanced registered nursing duties involving assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. You may supervise less experienced nursing staff, function as a Charge Nurse or Floor Supervisor, or serve as a subject matter expert for specialized nursing programs. You will be assigned to workdays, evenings, nights, and/or weekends as needed in this healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the application of nursing techniques in patient care and treatment to ensure efficiency of work activities
- Function in a lead or subject matter expert capacity coordinating nursing programs or acting as Charge Nurse/Floor Supervisor
- Advise less experienced nursing staff on policies, procedures, and performance improvement methods
- Identify developmental needs of employees and write instructions for specified areas of nursing care operations
- Provide nursing care and procedures according to physician orders and nursing protocol, including administering medication, evaluating side effects and medication effectiveness, maintaining healthcare equipment and supplies, tracking drugs and instruments, performing basic life support and CPR, and participating in emergency response
- Evaluate nursing plans of care and make adjustments as needed
- Review records to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Resolve disputes among employees following organizational policies and procedures, implementing corrective measures as needed
- Assign work plans to staff and prepare written work schedules
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or holds a privilege to practice in the State of Tennessee under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
- One of the following:
- Three years of registered nursing experience, OR
- Diploma in registered nursing from an accredited school of nursing or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university, plus two years of registered nursing experience, OR
- Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university, plus one year of registered nursing experience
- Valid motor vehicle operator license may be required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past five years (no DUI, reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than 4 moving violations)

Compensation
- Monthly Salary: $6,544.00 - $10,363.00
- Annual Salary: $78,528.00 - $124,356.00
- Current approved hiring rate: $7,504.00 monthly / $90,048.00 yearly, determined by amount of verifiable nursing experience
