Registered Nurse - 2N – OR-Weekend shift 3 p.m.-12:00 a.m.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a per diem, as-needed basis. This position offers weekend shifts from 3 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. You will work in a state-of-the-art surgical environment within the largest acute care medical facility in the Coastal Bend region.

Clinical Setting

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline is a leading acute care facility with comprehensive diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. The hospital features a Level II Trauma Center, an accredited Chest Pain Center, and an accredited Joint Commission Stroke Team. The Pavilion and North Tower house state-of-the-art surgical suites, emergency department, ICU, and Cardiac Cath Lab. The facility is a teaching hospital affiliated with the Texas A&M University System Health and Science Center College of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments according to appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess patient learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers to manage clinical situations
• Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
• Practice independently and demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of clinical situations

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or compact
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty

Schedule

• Per diem, as-needed employment
• Weekend shifts: 3 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
