Registered Nurse 2 -- Endoscopy -- Memorial Hospital

Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 for the Endoscopy department. This position offers the opportunity to work in a specialized clinical setting where you will provide direct patient care, demonstrate advanced clinical skills, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

In this role, you will manage complex patients with minimal assistance, utilizing the nursing process to identify and meet patient needs and achieve positive outcomes. You will independently perform advanced skills appropriate to endoscopy nursing and begin assisting colleagues in developing their clinical competencies.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate consistent use of the nursing process in daily practice and manage complex patients with minimal assistance
• Independently perform advanced clinical skills specific to endoscopy nursing
• Assist colleagues in developing clinical skills through teaching and mentoring
• Initiate and demonstrate behaviors that result in positive patient outcomes through collaborative group processes
• Identify personal learning needs and maintain competency in your area of practice
• Participate in unit quality improvement and research projects
• Identify and address actual legal and ethical issues with appropriate nursing actions
• Identify opportunities to change practice based on performance improvement and quality improvement outcomes
• Expand your understanding of the research process and its application to nursing practice
• Maintain and document all required education and credentials
• Demonstrate positive customer service and professional relationships with colleagues
• Comply with attendance policies and departmental scheduling requirements, including overtime and on-call situations
• Perform work in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with departmental pay practices
• Follow all organizational and departmental policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or completion of a formal nursing program
• Minimum one year of RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year of hire
• Demonstrated competency in patient assessment, interpretation of patient information, knowledge of growth and development, and understanding of treatment needs for your patient population

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
