Radiology - Interventional Radiologist - Assistant/ Associate Professor

Cincinnati Children's is seeking an Interventional Radiologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Department of Radiology. This is a full-time, regular position based in Location B with a rotating shift schedule and 40 weekly hours.

You will provide safe, effective, and compassionate patient care in interventional radiology, developing expertise and recognition as an authority in your field. You will examine patients, perform procedures, collect and analyze data, and make clinical decisions regarding patient care including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning. You will formulate, maintain, and modify patient-specific care plans based on ongoing assessment and coordinate care for discharged patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care commensurate with your level of advancement and clinical specialty
• Develop local and regional recognition as an authority in interventional radiology
• Develop a local or regional referral base for subspecialist services
• Develop distinctive clinical skills or programs with local or regional impact
• Document patient care on appropriate medical records
• Implement innovative approaches to patient care as appropriate
• Provide disease-specific expert consultation in your area of specialty
• Perform procedures, collect and analyze data, and make clinical decisions regarding patient care
• Monitor the appropriateness of therapeutic management to ensure timely delivery of care
• Promote positive patient care outcomes on an ongoing basis

Teaching and Training

• Teach and supervise the patient care of medical students, residents, and fellows
• Monitor medical care to ensure it is safe and effective
• Serve as an excellent teacher, role model, and mentor
• Participate in the development or direction of educational programs and curricular offerings
• Participate in curriculum committees and other education-related committees
• Serve as a consultant to other faculty and community physicians
• Prepare and provide lectures for residents
• Teach regularly at the bedside in the Division
• Participate in all divisional and departmental educational activities
• Maintain currency in your field through continuing education, literature review, and seminars

Service and Administration

• Contribute to the development of programs for patient care and educational purposes
• Participate in performance improvement programs
• Serve on divisional, departmental, or Medical Staff committees
• Provide faculty coverage as needed within the department
• Actively participate in all Division activities
• Maintain currency in departmental policies, procedures, and standards
• Promote interpersonal relationships and team concepts
• Support the implementation of long and short-term goals and objectives
• Complete evaluations for students, residents, and peers

Scholarly Activity

• Participate in scholarly activities including publication of clinical investigations, observations, reviews, chapters, or books
• Participate in clinical trials and clinical investigations
• Review manuscripts
• Design and conduct clinical research in your area of specialty
• Publish and co-author findings and conclusions from research in a timely manner
• Present findings internally
• Assist in designing and implementing programs that evaluate treatment efficacy
• Recommend approaches for improvement activities and new processes
• Collect and measure data to develop evidence-based processes
• Assist in obtaining funding from outside sources for research and teaching programs

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent
• Unrestricted licensed physician
• Approval and credentialing from CCHMC Medical Staff Services Division
• Completion of all required pre-employment activities
• Eligibility for Assistant Professor appointment
• Board certification in radiology
• Prior clinical practice experience may be required based on departmental needs
