The opportunity

Job Description

We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our Interventional Radiology team on a flexible staffing basis. In this role, you will operate x-ray and auxiliary equipment, process radiographic images, and assist with interventional radiology procedures. You will work directly with patients and the radiologist to ensure high-quality imaging and safe patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for radiologic examinations, explaining procedures in understandable terms and obtaining necessary consent forms
  • Perform various x-ray examinations according to established departmental standards and procedures
  • Position patients appropriately and arrange immobilization and supportive devices as needed
  • Adjust x-ray equipment and operate controls to obtain correct exposure
  • Monitor patient condition during procedures in accordance with technical and safety standards
  • Recognize and promptly report patient abnormalities, including fainting, discoloration, and contrast reactions, to the radiologist
  • Enter patient history data and pertinent information from requisitions into the system
  • Process and maintain exposed images, ensuring proper labeling with patient identification, date, and anatomical markers
  • Maintain required documentation and daily log sheets
  • Operate equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape
  • Scrub on interventional radiology procedures as needed
  • Perform related duties as required

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration
  • Minimum of one year of experience performing radiologic examinations
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association

Compensation

  • $90 per hour
