KOPA, Inc. is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the clinical team at Avante at Boca Raton. This position provides essential care to a specialized patient population with complex infection control needs who require skilled nursing facility placement but do not require acute care hospitalization. Many other facilities are unable to serve this population due to their specialized care requirements.
As an advanced practice registered nurse, you will serve as a key clinical leader, ensuring high-quality patient care while supervising and mentoring a team of nurse practitioners. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals in a collaborative environment to deliver comprehensive care and advance clinical practices.
Responsibilities
- Examine patients and review medical records
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including blood work and imaging studies
- Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
- Propose and implement treatments for chronic and infectious diseases
- Prescribe medications
- Maintain accurate patient records and schedules
- Educate patients and family members about health conditions, prescribed medications, disease prevention, and epidemiology
- Oversee patients' overall health and promote good health practices
- Supervise and mentor nurse practitioners on the team
- Review clinical documentation and provide feedback
- Lead team meetings
- Assist with onboarding and training of new nurse practitioners
- Monitor performance and support ongoing professional development
- Act as a liaison between the nurse practitioner team and facility leadership
- Assist in creating and refining workflows, protocols, and best practices
- Provide coverage at other Florida facilities as needed, which may involve occasional in-state travel for vacation coverage, sick leave, or coverage gaps
Required Qualifications
- Valid nurse practitioner license
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience
- Proven experience as a nurse practitioner in a skilled nursing facility
- Expertise in primary care, acute care, and chronic care practices
- Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
- Excellent communication skills
