Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - PMHNP, PMHNP-BC, APRN

Oswego County Correctional Facility is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide psychiatric consultation, diagnostic, and treatment services to patients in a correctional healthcare setting. This part-time position offers 8 hours per week with the possibility of increasing to 10-12 hours per week once a schedule is established. The schedule can be worked as a single 8-hour shift or split into two shifts per week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Provide medication management and crisis intervention services
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust treatment as needed
• Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with organization policies, state guidelines, and best practices, including medication education, seclusion/restraint use, infection control, and risk management
• Provide care sensitive to the age and developmental needs of each patient
• Adhere to established formularies for therapeutic regimens
• Utilize established procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals
• Participate in on-call schedules and mandatory committees as required
• Assume responsibility and accountability for individual clinical judgments and actions

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program
• Two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
• Minimum of 3,600 hours in practice as a Nurse Practitioner
• Active CPR certification
• Any other certifications required by contract, such as First Aid

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice
• Psychiatric experience
• Experience in a residential healthcare institution

Compensation

• Pay range: $76.50-$93.50 per hour based on years of experience
