The opportunity

Job Description

NorthKey Community Care is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide medication management and behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults with serious mental illness, severe emotional disturbance, and substance use disorders. This outpatient-based position is located in Florence and Covington, Kentucky, with no evening, weekend, or holiday requirements and flexible scheduling available.

Clinical Setting

You will work in NorthKey's outpatient offices serving the Northern Kentucky region across multiple counties. Services may be provided in outpatient offices, schools, or other external settings as needed. You will work independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians and professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medication management services based on initial and ongoing assessments of clients with serious mental illness, severe emotional disturbance, and substance use diagnoses
  • Develop individual service plans based on assessment data and provide appropriate medication interventions
  • Perform patient history screenings, risk factor assessments, and order therapeutic and diagnostic tests as indicated
  • Prescribe medications following organizational policies and relevant federal and state regulations
  • Consult with the Lead Medical Officer on cases beyond your scope of knowledge and expertise
  • Monitor clients on your caseload for changes or decline in mental status or medical conditions
  • Ensure clients are seen routinely before providing medication refills and adhere to appropriate standards of care
  • Complete quality documentation of all services, including service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, and treatment plan reviews
  • Participate in staffing meetings and consultations with other clinicians to assess therapeutic needs and encourage appropriate referrals
  • Maintain communication and positive multidisciplinary working relationships with clinicians and community professionals, including making appropriate referrals and sharing clinical information within HIPAA guidelines
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Attend and participate in continuing education and in-service training to improve professional competency
  • Maintain flexible hours to meet agency and client needs

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or above in a nursing field of study from an accredited school
  • Current license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Kentucky, or ability to obtain licensure in Kentucky
  • Relevant experience, knowledge, and expertise in the behavioral health field

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $94,000
  • Up to 12% annual contingency bonus
