We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our mental health clinic, where you will deliver direct patient care to adults and adolescents in an on-site, contracted role. You will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff to provide comprehensive, evidence-based mental health treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and diagnoses of mental health disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the treatment team
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring patient safety and compliance
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress through regular follow-up appointments
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to patients in distress
  • Create a positive and supportive environment that fosters emotional well-being
  • Provide focused, individualized care addressing each patient's unique needs and concerns
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary mental health team
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) for all patient interactions
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in psychiatry

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in psychiatric nursing or physician assistant studies
  • Current and active New Jersey state licensure and certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Active DEA licensure
  • Experience providing psychiatric care and managing psychotropic medications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical and legal standards
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
