Bay Area Community Services is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide mental health and wellness services to homeless adults and transitional age youth. You will work as part of an integrated care team in a wraparound model, collaborating with Personal Services Coordinators, Employment Coordinators, Peer Counselors, and Program Managers to support individuals with chronic and severe mental illness as they transition to community-based supports.
Clinical Setting
This position operates across multiple sites in Sacramento County, serving underserved populations in an outpatient community mental health setting.
Responsibilities
- Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications for program participants
- Provide ongoing direction of care and clinical consultation to the treatment team
- Respond to program emergencies
- Oversee charting and documentation required for County Utilization Review and Medi-Cal purposes
- Complete documentation necessary for billing Medication Support Services for Medi-Cal
- Supervise and monitor medication logs to ensure accuracy and compliance with medication policies and procedures
- Provide consultation and liaison to the local professional community to coordinate treatment when necessary and appropriate
- Participate in the development and implementation of ongoing in-service training and continuing education programs for staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Physician Assistant or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license and Board Certification
- Valid California DEA license
- One year of experience prescribing psychiatric medications
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- Valid California driver's license, personal vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage (DMV printout required)
Schedule
Full-time position with flexible 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week. One or more locations in Sacramento.
Compensation and Benefits
- Highly competitive compensation: $80-120 per hour, depending on experience
