PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER- Kingston Family Health Center

Kingston Family Health Center seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in a community health setting. You will conduct diagnostic interviews, manage medications, provide therapy, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, social workers, and other clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structured clinical interviews with all new patients
• Provide comprehensive psychiatric care including diagnostic interviews, medication management, medication reviews, and therapy
• Document all patient care in the electronic medical record and close all encounters within 24 hours
• Provide consultation to primary care providers and residents
• Supervise and provide guidance to psychosocial staff members and students
• Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) projects and efforts for psychiatry providers
• Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings, weekly team meetings, and weekly case conference meetings
• Facilitate ongoing chart reviews to ensure quality indicators are met, including treatment plan reviews
• Assist with quality assurance activities for the program, department, and agency
• Submit reports as requested and ensure compliance with funder requirements
• Conduct educational sessions for mental health clinicians, social services staff, outside agencies, and primary care providers
• Assist the Director of Psychiatry with administrative tasks as requested or required

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification
• Current New York state medical license and DEA registration
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
• Ability to generate, interpret, and analyze data from multiple sources
• Basic computer and internet navigational skills
• Computer literacy with Windows-based operating systems and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) technology
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. You will frequently be required to talk or hear and occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
