The opportunity

Job Description

Crestwyn Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team in Memphis, Tennessee. You will provide psychiatric evaluations, medical assessments, medication management, and ongoing treatment for patients across our behavioral health services. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with experienced psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and clinical professionals.

Clinical Setting

Crestwyn Behavioral Health is a state-of-the-art behavioral health hospital located in the historic Germantown area of Memphis. We provide comprehensive psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for adolescents (ages 12-17), adults, and seniors through inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient programs (IOP).

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness independently or as part of a healthcare team
  • Participate in the formulation of patient Master Treatment Plans
  • Assess physical and psychiatric health of patients and formulate measures to meet patient needs
  • Chart clinical observations, evaluations, and treatment according to facility guidelines
  • Communicate with physicians and other staff to provide quality care within appropriate guidelines
  • Encourage family involvement in patient care and respond to identified patient and family educational needs
  • Support and follow legal requirements, hospital policy and procedures, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide services in accordance with state guidelines for Nurse Practitioners
  • Provide on-call responsibilities on a scheduled basis as directed by medical staff
  • Order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays
  • Prescribe medication as appropriate
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients; acknowledge and work to resolve complaints when patient needs are not met

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing from a Nurse Practitioner program
  • Clinical experience working with the patient population served by the facility
  • Demonstrated knowledge of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, and patient care in a behavioral health environment
  • Board Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP or FNP)
  • Active license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Tennessee
  • DEA license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner
