Harmony United Psychiatric Care, a network of outpatient mental health clinics in Florida, is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for their Ocala clinic. This independent contractor position offers the flexibility to determine your own working hours while providing comprehensive psychiatric care in both in-person and telehealth settings.
You will work with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, physician assistants, and licensed therapists to serve adults, adolescents, and children aged five and above. The clinic provides a full range of mental health services including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, and neuropsychological testing.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for patients with a variety of mental health conditions
- Provide medication management and brief psychotherapeutic interventions
- Administer injections for Long-Acting Injectables (LAIs) when necessary, which is an infrequent service in most clinics
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about mental health conditions and therapeutic strategies
- Maintain documentation of services rendered in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatry through continuing education and professional development
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, or one year of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner plus three years as a Nurse Practitioner in any specialty
- Board certification in psychiatric mental health nursing
- Active license to practice in the State of Florida
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in an outpatient setting
Schedule
- As an independent contractor, you determine your own working hours
- Offices are open Monday through Thursday for in-person and telehealth appointments
- Availability to work via telemedicine Friday through Sunday
- Option to work 50% telemedicine from the beginning of employment
- On-call (phone only) seven days every 5-6 months
