Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Simple Solutions Psychotherapy is seeking a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team as an independent contractor. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, and prescribe and manage psychotropic medications for patients in an outpatient setting. You will work collaboratively with therapists and other clinical team members to provide coordinated, person-centered care that prioritizes patient dignity and long-term stability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and establish accurate diagnoses
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including monitoring effectiveness and side effects
• Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate closely with therapists to support integrated care and improve patient outcomes
• Participate in case consultations and care coordination with the clinical team
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards

Required Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in California
• Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Furnishing number and DEA registration (if prescribing controlled substances)
• Ability to diagnose and prescribe independently within scope of practice
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, particularly in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Knowledge of California regulations regarding independent contractor status and nurse practitioner scope of practice

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in outpatient mental health or telehealth settings

• 1099 independent contractor
• Flexible schedule with part-time or full-time options available
