Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - Part-Time

Northpoint Recovery is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our adult inpatient treatment facility in Loveland, Colorado. This is a part-time position working Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8am to 5pm. You will provide psychiatric consultation, medical direction, and direct patient care to adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in an inpatient residential setting.

Clinical Setting

You will work within Northpoint Recovery's adult inpatient program, collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team including physicians, nurses, counselors, and support staff. The organization operates an in-network, commercial insurance model and is committed to evidence-based treatment practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced medical and psychiatric services consistent with professional ethical guidelines and organizational policies
• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and medical exams
• Evaluate, initiate, and manage psychiatric medications for patients
• Order and interpret laboratory tests related to medication management and patient care
• Consult with physicians and providers regarding ongoing medical care, maintenance, and disease prevention
• Participate in case management and patient education
• Observe patient behaviors and communicate significant observations to the treatment team
• Document patient care information, progress notes, and treatment planning in a timely manner
• Participate in treatment planning and discharge planning under the direction of the Medical Director
• Utilize de-escalation skills when working with volatile patients to maintain safety
• Monitor patients on an ongoing basis to assess needs and facilitate medical interventions
• Maintain professional boundaries with patients
• Participate in quality assurance and compliance activities
• Provide medical updates to utilization review and managed care representatives
• Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and scope of licensure
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing with specialty from an accredited program
• Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Colorado with prescriptive privileges
• Valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate
• Valid National Provider Identification (NPI) number
• Current and nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience
• Knowledge of electronic medical records systems (KIPU)
• Ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrate interpersonal skills appropriate for treating patients in psychiatric specialty
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strong personal boundaries and build rapport with patients
• Understanding of and adherence to ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board

Schedule and Compensation

This is a part-time position working Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8am to 5pm. Compensation is $70-95 per hour plus shift differential.
