Northpoint Recovery is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide advanced psychiatric and medical services to adult inpatient patients in our Loveland, Colorado facility. You will conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, order and interpret lab tests, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to deliver evidence-based care for patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Clinical Setting
This position is based at our adult inpatient facility in Loveland, Colorado, part of Northpoint Recovery's network of behavioral healthcare providers across the Western United States. You will work as a key member of the clinical team, reporting to the Lead Advanced Practice Provider and providing consultation and medical direction to support staff in the inpatient treatment setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced medical and psychiatric services consistent with professional ethical guidelines and organizational policies
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and medical exams
- Evaluate, initiate, and manage psychiatric medications for patients
- Order and interpret laboratory tests prior to and during medication management
- Consult with physicians and providers regarding ongoing medical care, maintenance, and disease prevention
- Participate in case management and patient education
- Observe patient behaviors and communicate significant observations to the multidisciplinary team
- Document patient care information and behavior according to policies and procedures
- Participate in patient treatment planning and implementation under the direction of the Medical Director
- Utilize de-escalation skills when working with volatile patients to maintain safety
- Consult with the treatment team on treatment plan development and discharge planning
- Monitor patients on an ongoing basis to assess needs and facilitate medical treatment and interventions
- Document medical assessments, diagnoses, progress notes, and treatment planning items in a timely manner
- Maintain professional boundaries with patients
- Oversee and participate in quality assurance and compliance activities
- Provide medical updates to utilization review and managed care representatives
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and scope of licensure
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and HIPAA standards
Schedule
Sunday-Wednesday or Sunday-Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation: $70-95 per hour plus shift differential

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing with specialty from an accredited program
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Colorado with prescriptive privileges at hire and throughout employment
- Valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate
- Valid National Provider Identification (NPI) number
- Current and nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
- Knowledge of computer and electronic medical records systems (KIPU)
- Ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrate interpersonal skills appropriate for treating patients in psychiatric specialty
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strong personal boundaries and build rapport with patients
- Understanding of and adherence to ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board
