Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Family Care Center is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide direct client care in an outpatient behavioral health setting. You will assess, diagnose, and treat clients with mental health, substance use, and psychiatric conditions across nearly 30 clinics in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas. This role offers the autonomy to build a robust caseload while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and support staff.

Clinical Setting

Family Care Center operates clinics run by clinicians, emphasizing provider autonomy and evidence-based care. The Brentwood, Tennessee clinic location is at 105 Continental Pl, Ste 105, Brentwood, TN 37027. You will work in a modern, supportive environment with AI-supported clinical documentation and a behavioral health-focused EHR.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric diagnostic evaluations to determine diagnoses, treatment strategies, and care coordination needs
• Provide psychiatric and medical services within reasonable medical standards and in compliance with health licensing board requirements
• Maintain timely, complete, accurate, and legible medical records for all evaluated and treated patients
• Perform timely, concurrent, accurate clinical and billing documentation meeting professional standards and regulatory compliance
• Implement pharmacologic treatment strategies, order medications, and monitor and evaluate patient progress
• Order, obtain, and assess appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostics; base clinical decisions on laboratory interpretation
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical services and coordinate care
• Ensure timely access to care and meet applicable productivity standards
• Assume client care responsibilities inclusive of psychiatric evaluation, professional diagnoses, and prescribing and administering treatment
• Collaborate with MD or DO for challenging or complex cases; elevate to higher levels of care when necessary
• Complete medication and health education including informed consent, benefits, risks, side effects, and alternative treatments
• Conduct telemedicine appointments for both intake and follow-up encounters
• Coordinate care professionally and timely with clients, families, involved agencies, primary care providers, and specialty care providers
• Remain in compliance with state laws and regulations for PMHNP practice, including supervised hour requirements, CME, and timely completion of appropriate assessments with supervising physician
• Attend weekly mandatory supervisory meetings with physician or as deemed appropriate by supervising physician or Chief Medical Officer
• Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor

Schedule

No on-call, weekend, or evening hours. This position supports a healthy work-life balance with standard outpatient clinic hours.

Required Qualifications

• Master's or doctorate degree from an accredited nursing school
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program
• Current Licensed Practitioner with full and unrestricted licensure in the state of practice
• Active state DEA License
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a PMHNP
