Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner In Knoxville, TN

Join TeamHealth as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing care to adults and adolescents in an acute inpatient psychiatric setting in Knoxville, Tennessee. This full-time position offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care within a clinician-led organization that prioritizes high-quality patient outcomes and professional support.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an acute inpatient psychiatric facility serving both adult and adolescent populations. TeamHealth provides developed infrastructure with extensive back office and local management support to enable you to focus on patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and mental status examinations
• Diagnose and treat psychiatric, behavioral, and neurocognitive disorders
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
• Evaluate behavioral and safety concerns
• Provide interventions and behavioral management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams across care settings
• Manage a typical caseload of 14-16 patients per day

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday through Friday
• Hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Paid after-hour call coverage available on a voluntary or rotation basis
• Paid weekend coverage available on a voluntary or rotation basis

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Tennessee license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Active DEA registration or willingness to obtain
• Minimum of one year of experience as a PMHNP clinician in an inpatient setting
