Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - 1099 Contract

Anchor Within Counseling is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or psychiatrist to provide diagnostic evaluations and medication management services to clients in the Portland, OR area and throughout Oregon via telehealth. This is a 1099 independent contractor position offering flexible hours and full clinical autonomy.

Clinical Setting

Anchor Within Counseling provides psychotherapy, behavior support, and consultation services using a holistic, evidence-based approach with a focus on racially-informed and spiritually-informed care. The organization primarily serves historically marginalized racial and cultural populations.

Client Population

Common clinical presentations include complex trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, neurodevelopmental needs, and co-occurring behavioral health conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and ongoing medication management for referred clients
• Complete all clinical notes, treatment plans, prescriptions, and CPT billing codes directly within the company's EHR system within 72 hours of service delivery
• Capture rendered services in accordance with state billing standards
• Utilize care coordination as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted license to practice as an MD, DO, or PMHNP in Oregon
• Active DEA registration with full prescriptive authority in Oregon
• Active Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Medicaid provider ID, or immediate eligibility for credentialing with OHA
• Maintenance of professional liability insurance with minimum coverage limits of $1M/$3M
• Willingness to execute charting, prescribing, and CPT code billing selection directly in the company's EHR

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to serve Black, African, Latino, Hispanic, Native, and/or Indigenous populations from a racially informed lens
• Ability to serve clients who ascribe to religious beliefs from a protective factors lens

Contract Structure

This is a professional services contract under the 1099 Independent Contractor designation, not a W-2 employment position. As an independent contractor, you retain full clinical autonomy to review and decline all client referrals. Schedule and volume are flexible and managed based on your stated availability.

Compensation

Anchor Within Counseling offers a cost-share model based on actual reimbursements received for billed services. Compensation ranges from $130.65 to $172.90 per hour.
